To
be a successful leader in today s highly competitive business environment,
top engineering professionals must have command of leading edge
technologies, competitive strategies and tactics, good people skills,
and knowledge of the marketplace, business issues and the global
economic challenge. They must be able to lead, think and plan strategically,
manage finite human and financial resources and produce results.
The
Advanced Design and Manufacturing Institute, ADMI, created
through the partnership of five leading Ontario universities, presents
a unique, innovative learning experience through a new Master of Engineering in Design and Manufacturing with emphasis on
business and management. This exciting program is designed to
provide practicing engineers the enhanced knowledge, tools, technology
as well as business and management skills, necessary to keep them
at the forefront of their profession.
The
ADMI vision is to create a new generation of Canadian design
and manufacturing engineers with the ability and mindset to propel
Ontario Industry into a world leadership position. The collective
resources of partner universities and industry are leveraged to
provide participants with access to an integrated program of world-class
technology, expertise and experience, leading academic training
from partner universities and associates, together with innovative
technology applications, experiences and best business practices
from some of Canada s leading companies.
ADMI is the creative result of innovative thinking and leadership from the engineering and business schools of McMaster University, Queens University, the University of Toronto, the University of Waterloo and the University of Western Ontario.
Ontario Centres of Excellence Inc., Centre for Materials and Manufacturing, also plays a key partnership role providing ADMI with developmental support and guidance as well as governance leadership. ADMI is broadly endorsed and supported by Ontario industry... reflected in the impressive list of companies represented by participants in the ADMI program.
ADMI is the central organization through which the partner universities and industry design and develop the program and pool key academic and industrial resources to offer a unique and exciting program leading to a Masters Degree in Design and Manufacturing. ADMI is managed by the Executive Director and is governed by the Board of Directors comprised of the Dean of Engineering from each partner university, the Dean of Business School at one partner university, the Managing Director of OCE Inc. - CMM (Chair) and four representatives from industry.
